The Forest of Dean has no shortage of things to pull you outdoors. But The Orangery has a pretty good case for pulling you back in at lunchtime.
We serve lunch daily from noon, a menu of freshly cooked dishes and lighter bites that takes ingredients seriously and its atmosphere lightly.
Alongside our more substantial plates, you’ll find flatbreads, seasonal salads, soups and sharing boards that work just as well for a quick stop between walks as they do for a long and leisurely afternoon.
The kitchen works with producers on our doorstep. Pork from Plump Hill Farm. Game and venison from the Forest. Wye Valley vegetables when they’re at their best. It’s food that knows where it comes from, and tastes like it.
Wash it down with a local ale or cider from the bar, or something from our selection of cocktails and gin courtesy of Silver Circle Distillery. There are worse ways to spend a Tuesday!
Children’s menu available. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options throughout. Dogs welcome in the Orangery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book for lunch at The Speech House?
No, we don’t take bookings for The Orangery during the day. Walk-ins are welcome for lunch, but on busy Saturdays it’s worth calling ahead to see if there’s a wedding taking place.
You can book Sunday Lunch with us in the Verderers’ Court.
