YOUR WEDDING DAY AT THE SPEECH HOUSE hotel

The Speech House offers you the choice of four unique rooms to hold your wedding celebrations in.

Our purpose built and stylish Edwin Tauber Suite is ideal for larger weddings, as is the more traditional and historic Verderers’ Court. The Carolean Room is the perfect setting for smaller, more intimate weddings. The Orangery is ideal for post ceremony welcome drinks and canapés, allowing your guests to mingle and enjoy the adjoining garden.

  • Your individual menu will be chosen from the full range of choices at your planning meeting.
  • Extra courses can be added to your menu.
  • Most dietary requirements can be catered for.
  • The same starter, main course and dessert should be chosen for all your guests apart from vegetarians, children and any special dietary requirements.

 

WEDDING ACCOMMODATION

 

For the night of your wedding, you and your guests can relax and enjoy the convenience of staying on at the Speech House after the celebrations draw to a close.

The Oak Room, our bridal suite, along with all our main house rooms, have been carefully refurbished to reflect the traditional historic country house charm of the hotel. Your guests can also stay overnight, choosing from one of our more spacious main house rooms or the cosy courtyard rooms.

Your wedding guests can enjoy a 10% discount (10 or more room booking*). If you choose to extend your stay to a second night, you could get upto 50% off the room rate.

Room 4 - The Oak Room (The Bridal Suite)
This stunning room on the first floor has an incredible seven foot four poster bed with a large bay window and dressing room.

Room 2 - The Beech Room
Another beautiful room on the first floor with an antique seven foot four poster bed, also often used as a bridal suite.

Room 6 - The Chestnut Room
A stylish junior suite on the second floor with a separate lounge area. This room has a sofa bed and can be a double or twin beds.

Room 5 - The Larch Room
An elegant room on the first floor with a king-size four poster bed.

Room 10 - The Birch Room
A superior double room on the second floor with an additional sofa bed.

Room 14 - The Yew Room
A superior double room on the second floor with exposed beams.

Rooms 1, 3, 7 and 9 - Ash, Willow, Holly and Sycamore Rooms
Superior double or twin rooms on the first and second floors.

Rooms 8, 11, 12 and 15 - Hazel, Elm, Alder and Cedar Rooms
Cosy double rooms on the second floor.

Children
Several of our rooms can accommodate children either on single beds, sofa beds, z beds or in travel cots. The cost is £20 per child aged 2 and over. Cots and z beds are limited in number so please do let us know as soon as possible if you need one. The family rooms and standard double and twin courtyard rooms have showers only with all other rooms having a bath with shower over.

Dog-Friendly
Rooms 17 to 34 are dog-friendly and dogs are charged at just £10 per night. Dogs are allowed in the bars, reception area and Orangery only.

Check-in / Check-out
Rooms are normally available from 2pm unless they have not been used the previous evening and cannot be guaranteed any earlier although we will do our best to make sure rooms taken for the wedding are serviced first. Checkout is at 10.30am, however, this can be extended to 12.00 noon for an extra £15, subject to availability.
