French Tasting Menu – 28th March 2026
An elegant evening inspired by the heart of France, where classic flavours meet relaxed Forest of Dean hospitality.
Begin with warming French onion soup topped with Gruyère croute, before moving through a delicate starter, followed by a rich, slow-cooked Coq au Vin served with golden Pomme Anna. A playful beetroot and goats’ cheese macaron leads into a perfectly torched crème brûlée with blueberry and lemon shortbread.
A refined, indulgent celebration of French cuisine – no passport required.

Mediumship Evening with Simone Jones – 10th April 2026
Experience a heartfelt and uplifting evening of mediumship at The Speech House Hotel, set in the atmospheric heart of the Forest of Dean. The House That Speaks: An Evening with Spirit is a guided spiritual experience led by respected medium Simone Jones, offering guests a grounded, compassionate introduction to spirit communication.
Whether you are hoping to receive a message, seeking comfort, or simply curious about the spirit world, this intimate mediumship evening in Gloucestershire provides a welcoming and reflective space to connect, listen, and explore.
Hosted within our historic former hunting lodge, the setting enhances the sense of stillness and connection, creating a memorable and meaningful experience.

Indian Tasting Menu – Thursday 30th April
A vibrant, flavour-filled evening designed for sharing.
Start with crisp poppadoms and traditional dips, before gathering around the table for comforting favourites including Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Sweet Potato Saag Aloo and Cauliflower Bhaji, served with garlic naan and fragrant pilau rice. Finished with kheer infused with cardamom and saffron, topped with toasted nuts.

Meet The Producer – Friday 22nd May
Join us for an intimate tasting evening celebrating exceptional local pork, reared right here in and around the Forest of Dean.
In collaboration with Deb from Plumphill Farm, this evening brings field to fork into sharp, delicious focus. You’ll hear first-hand about life on the farm, the realities of small-scale farming and why provenance truly matters. Alongside our chefs showcasing the depth, flavour and versatility of properly reared pork. Each course in this specially curated tasting menu highlights different cuts and techniques, from refined plates to comforting classics, celebrating the whole animal with skill and creativity.

Spanish Tapas Tasting Menu – Thursday 25th June
A lively Spanish-inspired evening of small plates and big flavour.
Enjoy Padrón peppers on arrival before sharing hot tapas including Patatas Bravas, Spanish tortilla and chorizo croquettes, alongside cold tapas such as Serrano ham & melon filo tart. To finish, cinnamon churros with warm chocolate sauce.

Greek Tasting Menu – Wednesday 22nd July
Sun-drenched flavours and generous hospitality come together for our Greek Evening at The Speech House (without the plate throwing!)
Freshly baked pitta with cool tzatziki sets the tone, followed by golden spanakopita and grilled chicken souvlaki, before enjoying classic moussaka served alongside a vibrant Greek salad. Traditional baklava provides the perfect sweet finish, layered with honey and nuts.

One of our absolute best sellers – this event always hits the spot for those looking for a Winter warmer. Where connoisseurs and novices alike can savour the allure of some of the finest spirits.
Delight in a curated selection of single malts and blends, expertly paired with delectable canapés. Let each sip unveil the rich history and complex flavours of whisky, creating an unforgettable tasting experience.

Champagne Experience Picnic – 26th July 2025
Join us and Taittinger on the 26th July, between 2pm – 6pm for an afternoon like none other. Enjoy four glasses of Taittinger champagne, paired courses from delicious food stations (including a sizzling BBQ), and soak up the sunshine with garden games, a live DJ set, and the charming company of Taittinger representatives sharing their knowledge about the champagnes during this experience.
Whether you come for the bubbles, the food, or the laid-back luxury, this is an afternoon like no other.

Champagne Tasting
We are hosting an extraordinary Masquerade Taittinger Champagne Tasting Night, with a Five Course Tasting Menu blending sophistication and a touch of mystique.
Throughout the night, a knowledgeable Sommelier will guide guests through the nuances of each Champagne, sharing the rich history and craftsmanship of the Taittinger house

Summer Wine Tasting
Embark on a summer soirée of wine exploration with us this June. Our Summer Wine Tasting brings the opportunity for you to savour some seasonally curated wines, spritzes and fizz with us, hosted by the one and only Jono from Matthew Clark.
