Verderers’ is our fine dining restaurant within The Speech House – from an intimate meal for two through to a private function for up to 50 people. Perfect if you’re looking for a more formal dining setting with a modern twist. The historic beamed Verderer’s Court restaurant reflects the room’s continuing use as a courthouse for the Forest of Dean Verderers.

Offering you an imaginative fine dining menu which our talented Kitchen team, change seasonally. The dishes are prepared with fresh, and as far as possible, locally sourced ingredients. We cater for vegetarians, vegans and special dietary requirements – just let us know.

Opening Hours:

Thursday, Friday, Saturday – 6pm – 9pm

Sunday Lunch – 12pm- 3pm

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday – closed from January 1st 2026*

*The Verderers’ Court will always be available to book for groups over 10 on the days we are advertised as closed, subject to availabilty. Please contact Reception should you wish to book a large group.

The A La Carte menu will be available in the Orangery between Monday – Wednesday, please let your server know you would like to dine off that menu when you arrive.

The Carolean Room is a more intimate dining room which is used as a cosy corner in the hotel on quieter evenings or when Verderers’ is fully booked. The Carolean can also be booked as a private dining or function room, for up to 25 people.
